CHANDRAYAN-1 SPACE CRAFT

The Indian space research organisatio(ISRO) began it’s space research on febraury 22,1969. The first one that ISRO launched is the ‘’pencil’’ rocket, the weight of this rocket is 10kg. It has been launched from Thubma near Thiruvananthapuram at kerala.
The Polar satellite launch vehicle(PSLVC-11) rocket came into existence,when it’s launch pad at sriharikota took place on october 22,2008.The sriharikota is present at Andhra Pradesh in INDIA. The countries which have sent spacecraft to the moon are Russia, Usa, china, japan, the European space agency. The chandrayan-1 will travel about 3.84lakh km from earth to the moon.The weight of the PSLVC-11 is 1380kg on the ground.When PSLVC-11 travels at an altitude of 100km around the moon,it’s weight will be 590kg.The height of PSLVC-11 is 44.4 meters.11 scientific instruments will be carried by the chandrayan-1. Among these 11 five scientific instruments are from INDIA and the rest six are from other countries. It also carries the Indian flag and will be dropped on the moon. The chandrayan-1 gives information like chemicals and minerals such as magnesium,thorium,silicon,uranium . It also gives information about water and ice on the moon.It takes pictures on the moon soil and also gives information about hills, valleys,craters etc.,
